Testouille Marie
Marie Testouille is Testouille's daughter. They test together.
At the moment, they're arguing because Testouille wants this page to be a "Parent" and Marie wants it to be a "Child".
Of course, they're talking jargon (the names of things) about what makes ProcessWire work, but that doesn't tell us who's right.
And what if a Parent page could also be a Child of another Parent page, whose Children would inherit the settings, the presence or absence of a Sidebar on the side for example, and when we know that the site administrator can set these settings for a single page or a group of pages, we're sure that the members of the friendly Testouille family haven't finished arguing.
This is the story that first confronts the beginner who discovers our beloved CMS-CMF, and in the same vein, that's not all.
If he wants to display a group of pages that have something in common, to let the sub-pages benefit from advantages, a common or specific template as they choose, the administrator will have to set certain values that tell who are the Parents and who are the Children of whom.
A real headache ;-)
Personally, this is where I stand on January 3, 2024, and it'll be a fool's errand for any of you to guess when I'll post my first result.
